September 16-20, 2014

Same Plate lunch

The On the Same Page Literary Festival will sponsor a Book Fair during the Festival again this year.  A popular event, the Book Fair is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2014, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Ashe Arts Center, 303 School Avenue, West Jefferson.

If you’re a writer with a book, we hope that you will consider participating in the Book Fair.  The response last year was overwhelmingly positive from both the participants and the public.  Call the Arts Center at 336/846-ARTS for information and an application to participate.  The deadline to apply is July 1.  Check the Book Fair page for a link to the guidelines and application form which you can print, complete and mail in.

Calling All Writers!

You want it!  You need it!  It’s actual MOOLA, people!  All you writers out there, those toiling away in obscurity, hiding your work from your spouse, your significant others, your family, time to step out into the light.
On the Same Page is once again sponsoring the Page Crafter’s Prize in 2014.  First and second place awards will be given in fiction, non-fiction and poetry.  $200 and $100 prizes in each category.  And, you’ll be invited to read your work at the awards salon on Saturday, September 20, at the Festival.  Mind, you don’t HAVE to read your work, if you don’t want to, you can still be a winner — but we’d love to have you.  The Page Crafter’s Awards have been a wonderful wrap-up to the Festival each year and you don’t want to miss them.
So, get out those pencils, pens, and/or keyboards and get to work.  Dust off those pages and put a new shine on them.  Check out the guidelines on the web page for particulars, but pretty much you’ve got serious latitude to show us your stuff.
DEADLINE:  July 7 (postmark or 5:00 p.m. email).  There’s plenty of time to do your stuff, writers. Join the OTSP fun!
